Sums it up

Work this evening was an awesome disaster. Somehow only two of us were closing (normally 4 people close) And I was with a lady who speaks spanglish. She is funny and nice, but very confusing.... we can have two different conversations.... and we end up agreeing and then cause problems . Then some other stuff happened, like a scanner gun stopped working, and cardboard bailer needed to be cleared out (neither of us knew how to do this.) But the best part of the night that summed everything up was this- A customer asked about an as-is mattress, which I know nothing about, so I grab the nearest ikea book, flip it open, and what do you know its in spanish. So I explained the features using a book I didn't understand on something I had no clue about. And she bought it. Moral of the story- everything turns out, even when your clueless

In 5 years time

Today I worked on rebuilding my iTunes Library- I came across a song a purchased, 5 Years Time by Noah and the whale and it got me a thinking about the last five years. If you went back to that time I would be going to UVSC (now UVU, crazy) my major would be commercial drafting, and I was still working at a Pizza place driving around in a Mazda truck. If you had told me that I would be doing what I have done in the past five years, I would flat out tell you that you were out of your flipping mind.
I never thought I would move from Utah, crazy as it seems, I thought I would be there my whole life. Don't get me wrong I like Utah a lot, but I also like the other places I have lived (Colorado and Arizona if you didn't know.)
I didn't think I would still be in school. At the rate I am going now, I will be done in 2013. AHHHHHH! At least my current school, ASU, is awesome (and it will stay awesome as long as I make it past the milestone, wish me bucket loads of luck.) On the bright side.... I don't think I was prepared back in 2005 for a school like ASU, it would have been a mess.
Crazy crazy crazy

Some people sing in the shower.

Other people eat in the shower.... I guess.

The best city

If I where to build a city, from the ground up, it would have the following
1. Highlands Ranch trail system
2. Highlands Ranch Library/Rec Center
3. Tempe Climate.
4. Utah Mountains.
5. Virginia forests.
6. Daybreak style city layout.
7. Disney land style mono rail
8. Round-a-bouts only, no traffic lights
9. A big fish less lake.
10. A Harmons (like in draper)

Yay! for weird dreams.

I always have very weird dreams- but mostly when I have any dairy stuff before bed. Last week while in PA, we had ice cream and went to bed. And this is what I remember........
Dream #1
While driving home in Highland, I discovered a winery and they were having a big party. I went into the party and it was fun, then I went under the carpet to find a big production line making counterfeit Del Monte grape fruit cups. I was chased by people working at this warehouse, and I escaped out of a loading dock door. My friends where waiting outside and we went to a lake. The End.
Dream #2
I was out on the patio, and I found a Jeep dashboard mock up, I was excited because no one had seen it yet. My mom told me Jed Millar gave it to me because it would not fit in his car. I could not decide if I should show it to people, or wait till Jeep released it, then show it to people.
Dream #3
I was running and my knee didn't hurt, I was happy my knee didn't hurt, then I woke up mad because I couldn't go running.

Ya so no dairy before bed.

Better than the Easy Button.

I see a lot of buttons during a normal day- they do everything, open doors, turn on a fan, ring door bell, start the washer, answer the phone, and the list goes on. But today I found an awesome button that was so amazing that I thought "you know everything needs this button." What was this button you ask? It was a smoothie button on a blender. It was awesome- Hit the button and it did everything, It even stopped the machine when the perfect smoothie was complete. During my 6 hour work day I continued to be amazed at this button. If I put frozen rock hard berries in the machine it would start slow and quickly whirl up and suck the berries in. If the fruit was thawed, it would spin one way then switch and spin the opposite direction, getting the sticky berries off the side of the Jar. Freaking-wow-tastic. I think all electronic things should have buttons like this, it saves energy, saves time, extends product life, and simplify options (Come on who in the world needs a washer with so many cycles and options, that you could run a different wash program everyday for 5 years.) Don't get me wrong, I like options- but sometimes the machine knows best.

Platnum's got the woo-hoo

170,000 miles is a lot- for any car. Platnum hit it this past weekend, on the way to the Cabin (On Emma Park road.) Shortly after, I remembered that we have had the same headlamp bulbs, and same windshield which is crazy- those parts break under 100k in most cars. But on the way home a light came on telling me one of the head lamps was out. HAHAHAHAHA. The next day I was ready to change the bulb, had the hood up, and had just cleaned the engine bay; what do you know the bulb turned back on. Platnum is getting quite the personality in its old age.

Captain Obvious!

Everyone has that one person they know who always states the obvious, after which they try making a recovery and fail miserably. Today was my day as Captin' Obvious.
#1 Costco Customer: "I see you here a lot!"
Me: "I work a lot, so I am here a lot."
Costco Customer: "Thats understandable"
Me: "But I don't think thats a bad thing"
In my head: "That did not connect with what you were talking about"
Costco Customer: "ummm ya, well I will see you again because you work a lot."
In my head: "Pleeeeeeeaaaaaaassssseeee take your corn dog so I can stop talking to you"

Good Job me!

James started it, I finished it.

A couple years back, JR lost the trailer off the Jeep. He slightly bent the tow hitch, not to bad, it still worked. Fast forward a few years- I was told to drive the trailer (something I have never done) to the dump, and then to the plant place to get some dirt. It all went well, we filled the truck bed with dirt and off we went. Then while exiting the dirt store, we hit the gutter with the trailer stand. We noticed a bump, but didn't think much of it. Once home it was obvious what the bump was.

The Amazing meal!

I have learned the hard way, I can't drink whey protein drinks (but I can eat it if its been cooked in something like cookies) So I decided to try other types of protein drinks. This one is called the Amazing meal. Its made out of veggies, no flavorings, is vegan, no sugar added, and its also all natural. The Verdict? Terrible. It gave me energy, but the flavor was like throw up stomach acid in the mouth, with sand. But its a nice green color.

Patrick's not a fan of BYU.

So I applied to BYU, and well got rejected. I took it like a man, and was fine. Patrick on the other hand was not. But I convinced him he was better than that, and he would not want to spend his days parked in a sea of white late model Civics and Corolas. He was fine after that.
Anyways I had to write an essay, and I spent a lot of time on it (and Kristie spent a lot of time fixing it.) So I might as well put it up so people can read it- I had to write on something I was passionate about..............

I am passionate about my car.

When it was introduced in 2001, it was groundbreaking. I spent the next four years of my life researching it from bumper to bumper. When the time came for me to get a car of my own, I made the obvious choice and purchased a Patriot Blue PT Cruiser.

My friends were concerned.

“Your car is SO slow!”

“My PT goes 0-60 MPH in 8.3 seconds; your Corolla takes 10 seconds to do the same. It may not be fast- but I can outrun you any day.”

“PT Cruisers are for old people.”

“If you look at my PT’s Facebook page you will notice the average age of his fans is 30. Does your car have a Facebook page?”

“But it’s ugly.”

“My car was awarded the Design of the year in 2001, and sold over 1,000,000 copies by 2006. That’s not something an ugly car can do.”

Friends and family know when they see the PT Cruiser; good times are just around the corner. So if you ever get the chance to be a passenger in my car, hop in and buckle up- it’s going to be an adventure.

Weird youtube videos.

If you have ever gone on Youtube, you have probably come across odd videos- with the people who post them equaly as odd. Take this person, they have about 180 videos of ceiling fans. What's even more weird is that people watch and comment on the videos of the ceiling fans- and request videos of other fans. Who knew fans could bring such joy.

Life is good book.

This is a awesome book. Its small, only 100 pages, and about 5 inches squared. All the pages have big easy to read sentences- just about anyone can read them. So what makes it so awesome? It can solve any situation that is thrown your way, with a short quote and a simple picture.
A few of the best-
Everything is a once in a lifetime experience.
Don't fight mother nature.
Do what you like, like what you do.
Blur the line between work and play.
Sometime nothing is the best thing to do.
The pursuit is the reward.
I would like to hit people with the book when they are making a big deal out of something minor. It should be required reading for all.

11,000 pictures and counting.

I have hit 11000 pictures in my iphoto library! Okay I am sure Lisa, kristen, and Mack have 50,000, but I don't have kids to take pictures of (well I have a lot of pictures of the Larson kids) So 11,000 pictures for me is a lot. And looking through them is very funny, I took some- other people took some- I am not sure where a few came from- but they are all very cool. I think a slide show is in order......
